Getting Back Up to Speed

800px-german_shepherd_dog_swimmingAccidents happen to everyone.  People strain things, and so do dogs.  While sometimes they can walk it off, sometimes neither of you can.  Cases like that should be taken to the vet, first, but consider aquatic therapy- which is also known as swimming!  Most dogs enjoy swimming if you introduce them to it cheerfully, and swimming strengthens the muscle without putting pressure on joints.  Some areas have therapy pools where you can go in with your pet, but a backyard pool or a lake is often more easily accessible. Remember to rinse chlorine or pond scum off your dog when he’s done with his therapy!
